BRISBANE

"BEST PERFORMANCE IN A PRESS CONFERENCE"
AWARD OF THE WEEK

Goes to Brisbane Strikers coach, John Kosmina for his bemusing comments after his team's 5-2 loss to Carlton last weekend.

When asked what he thought of Carlton he replied:
" I don't think much of Carlton". The only problem with the comment was that the Blues won 5-2 and Archie Thompson scored four goals.

When asked about the refereeing, Kosmina replied

"The refereeing was poor. Is the ref's name Brett Hugo or Brett ego?"

The only problem with the comment: Carlton had one player sent off and a dubious penalty given against them.

When asked what he thought of his own player, Kasey Wehrman's performance, he replied:

"He is one of our young blokes who reckons he's better than he really is. He was not up to standard considering he is an international."

The only problem with the comment: Wehrman was judged one of the best players on the park.

Kosmina received a standing ovation from the press gallery of four journos for his magnificent rendition of "Mancini" in "One flew over the cuckoos nest".
