"BEST PERFORMANCE IN A PRESS CONFERENCE" Goes to Brisbane Strikers coach, John Kosmina for his bemusing comments after his team's 5-2 loss to Carlton last weekend. When asked what he thought of Carlton he replied: When asked about the refereeing, Kosmina replied "The refereeing was poor. Is the ref's name Brett Hugo or Brett ego?" The only problem with the comment: Carlton had one player sent off and a dubious penalty given against them. When asked what he thought of his own player, Kasey Wehrman's performance, he replied: "He is one of our young blokes who reckons he's better than he really is. He was not up to standard considering he is an international." The only problem with the comment: Wehrman was judged one of the best players on the park. Kosmina received a standing ovation from the press gallery of four journos for his magnificent rendition of "Mancini" in "One flew over the cuckoos nest". February 1999 |
