A World Giant on its Knees

You're Wrong Cactus - Hicks and Gillet are to Blame

It is amazing how many so called experts want to have a view on a world giant when the giant is on its knees.

In his blog Cactus makes a lot of sense for a Manchester United fan, and it is true that Benitez must take a lot of blame for the current blight of the Liverpool side particularly when you consider 2 seasons ago Liverpool went within 2 points of winning the title, in getting their highest points in the history of the Premier League.

What he is guilty off is getting into a duel at 10 paces with the owners and looking to call their bluff on player purchases and spending the money he had on players that simply were not needed.

But owners create the environment of the club and create the vision for the club. The vision that Hicks and Gillett created was one of debt and mediocrity.

For all fans out there wishing the demise of Liverpool (and good luck to those Everton fans for their quite clever chants at the Merseyside Derby) the King is not dead - long live the KING.

Here a question worth pondering could it ever be possible for Rooney and Torres swap clubs would it be a win-win for both?

Ever since I decided to leave my exciting women’s coaching soccer career in Tasmania in 1993, the Diegos have been part of my life. I may have been the adopted brother, but all the brothers have accepted me as their own. In all the graveyard shifts and at all the LIVE events we have been like true brothers, through the good times of Liverpool winning Champions League finals to the bad times when I divorced Liverpool for Bolton they have been there, a band of brothers talking together, laughing together, bagging me together about the game we love, the world game Football.
