NSL club played for:

Adelaide City Juventus

NSL club coached:

Perth Glory

Green & Gold Honors:

Socceroo appearances: 14

Diegos Verdict:

'Gazza' coached the fledgling glorious Perth 'Gropers' in the club's early years.

Although setting the foundations for success that the club is enjoying in the new millennium Marocchi's inability to win enough games to make the finals consistently eventually cost him his job.

If 'The Shed' is going to successfully drop 'gob' on opposing goalkeepers for 90 minutes of every home game of every season, the least that the team can do is win.

Some Golden Soft Sombrero Moments with Gary Marocchi

Marocchi on Glory's unique time wasting tactics…

Diegos: "In soccer around the world time wasting tactics are often employed by teams in a bid to break the rhythm and concentration of their opponents.

FIFA to some extent has been successful in stamping this out, penalizing players by issuing red and yellow cards but it looks like you guys at the Glory have come up with the ultimate time wasting tactic - the streaker!

Is this a Glory time wasting ploy or part of the pre match entertainment on match day?"

Marocchi: "Well I must tell you that that was one of the most incredible things that l have ever seen.

The streaker that actually came out was an English speedway champion. He was out in Australia on holidays and l guess he had a few too many beers.

It was quite funny and to see him do a slam dunk in the goal square was a sight.

I know it disrupted the game for a while but it certainly generated some entertainment on the day."

Marocchi fielding the Four Diegos hard question…

Diegos: "Here is the Diegos hard question…are you a fan of morning glory or do you prefer afternoon delight?"

Marocchi: "I categorically prefer the afternoon delight to the morning glory. Yep I'm at my best in the afternoon."
